Florence Adeyemi

Graphic & Textile Artist, from Nigeria

Born: 25th of February, 1949

Area of Specialization: Batik cloth & wall hanging, Painting, Woodcut & linocut Print and Drawing from the back.

Profile: Florence Adeyemi is one of the foremost Nigerian Women artists with vision and mission. She hails from Ijebu - Ijesa, Osun State of Nigeria. She is the wife of Yinka Adeyemi, a world acclaimed Batik artist. Her encounter with Prof. Irein Wangboje, master graphic artist at the Ori Olokun Art School (University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University), has left a definite mark on Florence’s creative venture and ever growing artistic career. She’s happily married with children.

Art Training: Yinka Adeyemi Studio, 1968 Ori Olokun Cultural Centre, (University of Ife now OAU Institute of African Studies) 1968-1969.
