Moyo graduated from the University of Ife with a BA in 1972.  Fed up with the political instability in Nigeria, he moved to Baltimore in the 80's to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where he obtained his MA in fine Arts.  In 2002 he settled in Denver where he taught at the University of Colorado.
