Isaac Ojo Fajana

Artist, from Omuo-Ekiti, Nigeria

Isaac Ojo is an incredibly talented artist living in Oshogbo who has still not received the recognition he is due.  He is accomplished in printmaking, adire, batik, and embroidery which is the medium he concentrates on now. Isaac's large amorphous forms which flow and recede, and his use of bright colors result in stiking compostions.  His embroideries of animals in the forest or his pieces on the Oshogbo sacred river  festival are fantastic mesmerizing wall hangings.  For more information see New Currents Ancien Rivers - Contemporary African Artists in a Generation of Change by Jean Kennedy
