To be a woman in my society is like a heavy burden! It is the woman that breast feeds, educates, takes care of the household, goes into the streets, is the victim of polygamy and is also at the mercy of her parents-in-law. In her house, the husband is the head of the family and it is he who makes all the decisions, many times arbitrarily. The woman must always relent; even if she disagrees, she always says "yes"! The bundle of wood here is symbolic of all the responsibilities a woman faces in Senegal.
